Most of us doing any type of keyword research, will focus on words that have moderate to high volume search numbers with little competition. That’s actually a necessary component when doing your research…we’re you expecting me to say something different perhaps?
No-way, this research is vital when trying to attack a new niche market.
But there something else that can help you take things a little further and that’s finding out the commercial value of a particular keyword! You see, knowing the commercial intent will tell you if a particular keyword will result in sales or not! As you would expect a keyword with a higher value is more likely to convert into sales than a lower valued word. Pretty basic right…right!
Well what if I told you there is a great tool available for doing just that and its FREE. Its called…”Detecting Online Commercial Intention” and its offered by Microsoft adcenter Labs. Use this link- Audience Intelligence
Below is a screen shot using the keyword Amazon…just wanted you to get the idea!
With this, you can see that the commercial intention is rated at 0.85 which is actually 85%. That mean that for people using that keyword there is an 85% chance that they are looking to buy something.
Its really easy to use, just type in your word and hit the Query then Go, its that simple! You can also use this tool for URL names!
Well I hope you find this tool to be an excellent addition to your keyword research!
