One thing that many people do not consider when building a webpage is that keywords should be used in the title of each page. When text is placed within a title tag (title tags look like <title></title>) it will then be viewable in the web browser title bar. This makes such title tags worth considering in relation to Meta tags even though they are two different items. Another aspect of these title tags is that they may be appended by the browser that they are opened within. OPERA and Microsoft Internet Explorer are two examples of such browsers.
One of the benefits to using title tags in such a way is that the major web crawlers will list the text that you have inserted as the text of your page’s listing. This can also help in another major way. This text is one of the top factors that search engines use to rank your web page. It is very important to note that a web site that has multiple pages must have each one search engine optimized. It is these keywords and/or keyword phrases in the title and on the pages that will assist in drawing visitors to the site.
You must be able to come up with each of the keyword phrases and keywords for each product, information, or service that you will offer. It is these that, when used in various combinations, will help to bring people to your site. Do not make the common mistake that so many others do. You do not want to use your business name in the title of all your pages. Believe it or not there are many prospective clients or customers who will not even worry with the name of your business until they know more about you. Once they have had a chance to check out your site and possibly bookmark it they will bother more with such things.
It is usually important to add the name of your business to the title on your home page. On the other hand, if you use it on every page you will be wasting space and keywords that could be better served by being put to other uses. Rather than putting your business name try putting keywords there. This will help increase the standing of your site on the search engine listing.
Most importantly, when you are placing keyword phrases or keywords in the title make sure to avoid connecting words such as ‘and,’ ‘or,’ and ‘at.’ These phrases will waste extremely valuable space since it is the first three positions in the title tag that will determine what the search engines hit upon.

Hey, great site here! Your articles are right on the money. One question, can titles really make or break your site?

Your article hits right on the nose. Stop words such as and, or, and whatnot can literally mess up your positioning in web ranking.
